A short synopsis
The infinite rope is a work of collective creation that remains open, infinite. It is a kind of “exquisite surreal textile corpse”, which connects us with an eternal line, intertwining and entangling us. More than a hundred artists had been invited to weave or make a rope with whatever was at hand. In many cases, the mere fact of receiving the instructions caused a kind of spell, resulting in ropes of all kinds, as if the mere idea had awakened a special sensitivity to observe and recognize the continuous that lives with us.
These works made by Bauer as part of an exhibition of video installations where presented in Suizspacio, an art space of the Swiss Embassy, in the Ñuñoa Metro station in Santiago, Chile.

First in an account on Instagram: @lacuerdainfinita, in which through the photos of the posts the ropes were joined virtually.
This project was presented at the Pereira Palace, in March of 2023, almost two years after it began, and more than being exposed, it infiltrated the heritage building as an act of investiture. Coming into contact with every possible corner of the property; climbing up the walls to perch on the metal beams of the sky and then descend again among the leaves of the palms until resting on the ground and slipping everywhere like a living being, which goes by and takes the chance of exploring the place, changing its skin and continuing.
And in parallel, an exhibition of a video installation of the rope was presented in Suizspacio, an art space of the Swiss Embassy, in the Ñuñoa Metro station.
During the project, more than a hundred artists had been invited to weave or make a rope with whatever was at hand.
