A short synopsis
The short film is the result of a collaboration between Catalina Bauer and the dancer Amelia Ibanez. The work is part of an interdisciplinary project that refers to the process of learning a language through the creation of an alphabet of movements and postures performed with the body. The letters were used to form words and brief sentences that were presented as a simple choreography. The working methodology is based on the book “El Silabario” published in 1945 by the Chilean teacher Adrian Dufflocq, whose aims were to reduce illiteracy and promote self-learning of the Spanish language.
